Can you spot the hidden gems?

We are in Amelia Island, Florida covering the Concours d'Elegance. Right now we’re having fun running around this weekend learning at the seminars, drooling at the auctions, and getting acquainted with some rare vehicles.

As we try to remember this is a job and not a vacation, we’re reminded that no matter the quality of the car show one constant remains: they’re a place to share the knowledge. When it comes to concourse events, even the spectators want to show there no armatures. So at these premium automotive showcases a parking lot can be peppered with some precious metal, and Amelia Island is no exception.

We’ll breakdown all weekend’s events over the next few days, but until then, enjoy a few classics we spotted hanging out with the regular folk in the parking lot. This is what was spotted on during Saturday's events.  We imagine there will be even better cars during Sunday's main show, but we'll probably be too busy with the multi-million concourse cars to notice.   Some cars like the Vignale-bodied Ferrari 225 S could possibly be upgraded to the actual concourse event, while others like Lancia Beta Scorpion or Edsel Villager are just some fun classics to spot. See it all in the photo gallery.

UPDATE: The 1952 Ferrari 225 S in these pictures is in Sunday's concourse as part of the featured Cuban Grand Prix racers.  More to come soon.  --MK
