Earlier this week we found James Bond’s infamous 1964 Aston Martin DB5 (possibly the world’s most famous ride) was
headed to the auction block. But before the fall sale, it will join a few slightly less famous Aston’s that were put into MI-6 service.
On June 26 three other cars will join the DB5 at the Stoke Park Club for the Midsummer Classic event (they also have an appropriately named ThunderBall evening schedule.) The other Bond Astons will be the DBS from
Quantum of Solace, the Vanquish from
Die Another Day and the V8 Vantage Volante from
The Living Daylights.
The Stoke Park Club also has significance to Bond movie fans as the setting for the golf outing in
Goldfinger, and doubles for a Hamburg hotel in
Tomorrow Never Dies. Keen observers will also recognize the club from the movie
Layer Cake, which features a pre-Bond Daniel Craig.
While event organizers are considering this the complete collection of 007’s Aston Martins, there are a few minor cars missing. There was a hardtop V8 Vantage used in
The Living Daylights (at least one was blown up,) and George Lazenby’s only 007 appearance in
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was also the solo appearance for an original Aston Martin DBS as a Bond car.
